Mips® safety system functionality

We know from scientific research that the brain is particularly sensitive to rotation. In the event of an impact, the helmet technology provided by a Mips® safety system is intended to help reduce the impact of rotational energy to the head by enabling a relative movement between the head and helmet.

When such an impact occurs the forces the build-up between the head and helmet are immense. These forces can be compared to the weight of up to 10 people suddenly standing on your head. Under such high pressure, the friction between head and helmet makes it hard for the helmet to move – even if the straps are slightly loose or if the helmet doesn’t have a properly secure fit as recommended by the manufacturer. But a Mips® low-friction layer inside a helmet can still allow omni-directional movement of 10-15mm when that high load occurs.

Specific to the snow edition is a soft-touch matte finish on a tough ABS shell with an EPS liner tested to reduce the force transmitted to the head in case of a crash. The back dial fit system ensures the perfect fit with anchor points on either side of the helmet. Turning the dial tightens or loosens the helmet as required and gives you the flexibility to wear your helmet differently depending on the conditions.

With all the construction of our Snow helmets, our Park series takes the best features and simplifies the deal. Eliminating the ear pads and goggle-clip, the Classic 2.0 features a minimal design, and signature brim silhouette with our superior patented venting and airflow system. The best of both worlds, the Classic 2.0 provides style and protection, a low and comfortable profile and a cooler ride.

The Low Rider edition is designed for the water and features a tough ABS shell with a flexible EVA liner tested to reduce the force transmitted to the head in case of a crash.
